The rapid development of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms, is bringing a series of transformations to journalism, some of which have already become commonly accepted tools in everyday work: the use of robots that automatically generate news (sports results, financial reports, analyses of large databases, visual data representation), quick analysis and article composition, assistance to journalists in research, and algorithms that adapt content to users’ interests, enabling a personalized experience.

Artificial intelligence helps in automatic fact-checking, identifying fake news and misinformation, and discovering sources of information. It easily analyzes images, videos, and text to verify their authenticity. Various chatbots are in daily use, allowing real-time interaction with readers, answering questions, and providing additional information. However, incorrect use can create fake news and adjust content.

The use of artificial intelligence in journalism opens up new ethical questions, such as algorithm transparency, bias, and accountability for automated decisions. This kind of data collection and analysis also presents challenges related to privacy and information security.

The potential dangers of using artificial intelligence require clear controls that include data verification, human oversight, education, privacy protection, and adherence to ethical standards. In this way, the benefits of artificial intelligence can be maximized while minimizing risks.

We present a Proposal for innovations in journalism that can significantly improve the way media influences the masses and provide a better informational environment.
