GDP data for European countries on the Eurostat website shows that Croatia’s GDP growth is higher than the European average of 0.2 percent.
On the official website of the HDZ, a post was published on May 28 stating: “The Croatian economy in the first quarter of 2024 grew rapidly – by 3.9% year-on-year, almost 10x stronger than the average of the EU and the Eurozone (0.4%)! This is the 13th consecutive quarter that our national economy has grown in real terms. According to the first estimate of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, the new ‘jump’ in GDP can mainly be attributed to increased investment and government spending. Among other things, the volume of construction work in the first 3 months of 2024 increased due to the accelerated #reconstruction by 14.6% compared to the same period last year.”

The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has published an estimate indicating that GDP in the first quarter of 2024 is 3.9% higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2023. Seasonally adjusted quarterly GDP shows a positive change rate of 1.0% compared to the previous period and is 3.9% higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2023.
